For the last three months, my ears are not normal. I have mild ringing in both the ears. No nausea or a headache, but ears are not normal. Sometimes it feels like itching inside and I have a tendency to touch from the outside. I cleaned with an earbud, and added mustard oil three months ago. I took anti-allergic medicine for seven days and added a nasal drop (Otrivin) once a day, two months ago and felt better. Itching was cured when I put Waxsol ear drops last week. When I breathe or cough I am feeling a slight discomfort in the left ear.

I had severe wax buildup in my left ear and ended up at the emergency room. He had to use a long stick with a hook which really hurt. The wax was about the size of my thumb if not more. He unclogged my ear and got the wax out and I was able to hear again, but then I still feel pain down the left side of my face from my ear when I swallow. The food is getting clogged and it makes me choke. He put me on antibiotics and ear drops. I wonder if the infection has not gone away since.

I have a terrible ear ache, and it is constantly ringing and painful sometimes. But I haven't been to see the doctor for my ear infection, and it's been like this now for a long time.

I have had this ear trouble for a couple of years and no physician has ever told me that I may have something other than earwax in my ear. I could not stand the pain and itching anymore while taking a final exam and went to the doctor. They told me it is an outer ear infection, swimmer's ear. I believed them, only I went to the pharmacy and got an over the counter ear wax removal kit. It has part peroxide in it and a bubble syringe to wash out the rest of the wax. I have done it ten times at least for every other day or two.

Constant ringing in both ears, left ear is extremely sore inside and I have regular pain that shoots down inside the ear, down my jaw and neck area below the ear. If I use ear drops or spray and lay on my side the pain subsides, but this is only temporary. It feels like the inner ear is inflamed as I can feel pressure when moving my jaw (chewing and eating can be quite painful). I have suffered from this for over 4 years and it comes and goes. The ringing is the only constant which does not cause physical pain, but is irritating especially at night or when in a quiet environment.

Ringing in both ears that progressively got louder and louder. Pain in both ears and stuffy nose and facial pain in and around nose and eyes. I had chills and felt warm to the touch, but my temperature is usually always subnormal and was 94.7 when I checked for fever. When I would lie down, it was painful to sleep on either side of my head. In fact, my scalp in the temporal region felt swollen and painful to the touch. I'm on Cipro for 4 days now and still have symptoms. I think I should have ear drops but doctor has not mentioned it.

I developed a sore throat. It did not clear for 60 days. I was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. I was treated with antibiotics. At the conclusion of my antibiotics, my Eustachian tubes closed and would not allow for the pressure to equalize. My doctor put me on an antihistamine. The tubes now seem to be clear however, since the ear infection cleared there has been a constant ringing in my ears, and pain inside. Sometimes it feels like needles.

I am 25 years old and I got my first ever ear infection yesterday. It started with waking at 2 a.m. with severe pain in my right ear. Later, it was in both ears. There was so much pressure in my ears and head, and my jaw was unbelievably sore, and my left side of my throat felt was totally swollen. I got to the doctor and he said I do have an ear infection in both ears, but my throat wasn't swollen at all! Maybe it was just a side effect from the pressure. Today there is still pressure in my ears and jaw, but it is tolerable now.

My inner ear keeps on aching with no discharge. I get severe headaches and have pain just behind my left ear. I also get dizzy spells and my balance is off. My throat is also sore. I am currently not on a healthcare plan. So I am confused on what to do as I am also breastfeeding and would love what is safe to use.

Years ago, I developed infection in both ears, also known as bealed ears. I experienced excruciating pain and my faced swelled. My regular doctor prescribed oral antibiotics and pain pills. I suffered for two weeks or more until my sister made me an appointment with an ear, nose, and throat specialist. He used something like a mini vacuum cleaner and sucked out the infection and packed by ears with antibiotics.

I have repetitive ear infections for the past three years with heavy discharge from both ears. I do not feel sick or have negative symptoms other than they are sore. I have used steroid drops under prescription which works and have had my ears cleaned out twice under anesthetic however the infections keep coming back. I also use olive oil to lubricate the canals (as advised) which also works however this does not clear the infection. I would greatly appreciative any advice as I am concerned this may affect my hearing in time to come. Male 42 years old.

I experienced intense pain and deafness in right ear. I also have extreme tenderness and numbness around my ear. Also over 24 hours felt really ill. This infection came on after a heavy 2 week cold or flu-type illness with extremely bad productive cough during the second week. This seemed to stop but that is when ear infection struck. My first visit to the clinic nurse within 24 hours only initiated “I can't see anything. “Put ear drops in and come back if there is no improvement.” I was in agony over the next two days before could get a doctor's appointment. I was immediately put on high-dose penicillin and 48 hours later is only just having some effect. I still have not slept through the night. I'm still deaf. I'm still in pain.

My ear infection usually lasts 4 to 6 weeks. I don't get any pain, just fullness in the ear, heavy head, itching deep inside the ear and a watery discharge. My doctor gives oral antibiotics and drops which help, but it still takes a long time to clear up.
