I woke up one morning with a terrible sore throat. I started coughing more and more that day. Night came and I started running a fever. The next day, I woke to a 102 fever. The coughing was excessive. As I coughed, my bowels were over active as well. It was a rough day. My fever went to 103.4 and I got to the couch and slept. It was now 4:00 and my neighbor was coming to check on me hourly. My fever was 103.7. I was hot and cold. I was not making much sense either. I could not drink or eat. The next day I remained at 103.4 to 103.7. I did not go to the doctor. She again came to check on me and I was having bad hallucinations. My fever finally broke around 5 pm the third day. My ribs and abdomen hurt so badly from the coughing that I had to wear a pillow to counter-act the coughing pressure. Day 5 I had enough as I then had severe vertigo and head noises. I went to the emergency room. CT scan was clean. Chest x-ray was clean. Blood results were all over the place. They did the nose swab for flu and I was positive for Influenza A H1N1. I also had acute sinusitis. I was given 2000 mg of Keflex a day to take for sinuses and also given a pain medicine in liquid form for the throat. It is day 10 and I am still coughing up junk and blowing up junk and sleeping all of the time. I am ready for this swine flu to be over but I think I still have a ways to go!
