My wife is in agony because of the piriformis compression to the sciatic nerve. She has been in hospital for nearly 3 weeks with extreme pain every day all day. We are waiting for an operation. They just informed us that she needs to wait for another 2 weeks. We are frustrated because the treating doctors don’t know about this and don't know how to treat. We are in Melbourne, Australia.

In April of 2018, I joined a Fitbit challenge. I doubled and at times tripled my steps. At the end of the month my buttocks started to ache. By the middle of May I was experiencing a great deal of stiffness and pain. At the end of May I made an appointment with my primary doctor who diagnosed me with piriformis syndrome. I am seeing a chiropractor two times a week and stretching three to four times per day. I have also been prescribed Motrin 800 mg. Mornings are the worst. I’m stiff and it takes a while to get moving. I sit on a heating pad and then stretch. After a while I am more limber. However, throughout the day the pain comes and goes. Sometimes, the pain actually buckles me as pain catches and/or radiates down my leg. It really is painful and interfering with my daily routine.
