My sister got norovirus infection when we were in high school. It started on a Sunday morning. She told my parents her stomach hurt. A few hours later she started projectile vomiting. I didn’t get much sleep that night because she couldn’t stop dry heaving. My mom brought her water, which helped a little bit but her throwing up was loud enough to wake me up for school that morning. My parents and I caught it later that week. It was probably the worst throw up bug I’ve ever had. I was miserable.

I'm having nausea with fever, diarrhea, headache, stomach cramps and muscle pain. It’s been 6 days with norovirus infection but I have not recovered yet.

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling queasy with my eyes watering and throat feeling hot because of the norovirus infection. My head was spinning and my body felt like it was rocking. Suddenly, I threw up all over the floor. My vomit was partially digested food. I continued to vomit until I was dry-heaving. For the next 3 days, I threw up everything I ate or drank, even clear liquids. The 4th day, I kept down some water, though I vomited up Jell-O. I gradually was able to eat and drink a little. No diarrhea, but I would sleep for hours, only waking up to throw up. By the 6th day, it finally stopped.

This norovirus attack came on very quickly. The next thing I know, I was vomiting with severe diarrhea. I thought at first I had food poisoning. But ruled that out when my wife came down with the same symptoms two days later. I felt much better on the third day.
