I contracted necrotizing fasciitis in October 2016. I had a boil at the back of my thigh for 5 days, and when it burst, I had antibiotics from the doctor. After 5 days I started to feel very ill and called the general physician to the flat. He sent for an ambulance, and I don’t remember much after reaching Accident and Emergency. I woke up 10 days later in ICU, having had 5 debridements of thigh, and transferred to burns ward where I had 2 skin grafts. I am still having nurses changing dressings after nearly 5 months. My mobility is not good either.
