My father was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) liver cancer as well as cirrhosis and hepatitis C almost 2 years ago. In March of 2017 he had microwave ablation done on 4 spots and was clear. He took the medicines and got rid of the hepatitis. In June they did a CT scan and found another spot and his AFP (alpha-fetoprotein) levels were very high. They did a biopsy and found the HCC had returned. He has tumors on both sides of his liver and one is in one of the main blood vessels. That along with his AFP level makes them worry about it spreading.
