I started off noticing small changes like increased discharge, and my urine had a smell, but no pain while urinating. So I was just figuring I had bacterial vaginosis or something, so I did delay treatment for a little while. I started to get a kind of achy back pain, which increased as days progressed. It was the worst at night, I was vomiting and feeling very weak and generally just ill. I went to the emergency room and they gave me new medicines for kidney infection, but the back pain is still really bad. Get checked guys don’t let a urinary tract infection (UTI) sit ever!

When I urinate the pain shoots through my body down my arms and fingers. This is my second kidney infection this year and I got about 3 last year. I got antibiotics each time and it cleared it up. I don’t understand why I am getting so many, and why pain in my arms and fingers!

I was drip poisoned with antifreeze over 7 plus years. The kidney infections started 10 months after this man started poisoning me and when he decided to finish the job of killing me, I had 5 infections in less than 3 months. Since he left a year and half ago, running from money he owed, I have had repeated infections. I was on a prophylactic antibiotic, but recently needed surgery and now have a whopper of a kidney infection. Nowhere on any website does it mention antifreeze as a cause of kidney infections. Please add this to your causes. I do not know if I will have time to share this.

I have had UTIs (urinary tract infections) a few times but this past couple of days it has been awful. I had a box of AZO strong medication and I started yesterday taking the prescribed medication. My urine turned bright orange and I had to run to the bathroom several times yesterday and today. I do not have sex so I don't know what brings it on. When I urinate pain runs down by body on both sides, my arms and my fingers that I have to squeeze tight while urinating. I am worried about this kidney infection.

My pain is primarily in my mid to lower back, right side mostly. It feels like a pulled muscle when I twist or move wrong. I am super fatigued, nauseous but no vomiting, slight fever, chills, and random sharp pains in my back, but I caught this kidney infection early. I had one that hospitalized me, I waited too long before getting treated. That was about 23 years ago. I was so sick, never again will I wait! You only get one set of kidneys, so got to save them!

I have been suffering from urinary tract infection for the last 8 months. Now I have pain during urination from last few days. I am suffering from back pain, side pain, and joints pain, but not swelling in the body. Worried it has become a kidney infection.

I am a 43 year old female and I've suffered from several urinary tract infections (UTI) in the past. They've been so bad that once I felt like I was urinating glass, the pain was awful and also was causing me to urinate on myself. I went to the emergency room and they said I had a flaming UTI. Now I have pain in my back, also stabbing pain in my side, frequent urination but no pain when urinating, no fever, etc. Just the pain in my back is so bad I've woken up in the middle of the night feeling as if I couldn't turn over from my back. I think it might be kidneys infection.

Well, I've been dizzy on and off since Wednesday. It scares me. I feel like I'm going to throw up and everything. Something is definitely not right! I am worried that I might have kidney infection. Oh, and on top of that my acid reflux is really bad!

I had the worst ever kidney infection and went to the doctor and felt like just lying on the floor right there in the office. I stayed in bed for 3 days. The Cipro also makes you deathly sick. Thank goodness for the Pyridium for my spasms. I still have those spasms in bladder, and every once in a while I feel as if my bladder is full and just little trickles out.

I have had kidney infections ever since I was a teenager. The worst one was when I was running a 101.7 fever, the chills, aching pain on my right lower back, throwing up, being dehydrated due to the throwing up, the foul smell and look of my urine, and the constant headaches! If you have any of these signs, you should really get to a doctor or the emergency room.

I had total retention of bladder and wearing catheter now for 2 weeks, which had been changed 3 times as no urine eventuated. I will go to the hospital this Friday but I have developing pain, like small kick into my testicles and small pain developing in the groin area. I am scared about kidney infection.

Well, I went to urgent care with pains in my side. Yep, it was kidney infection. It’s an awful painful infection, I was given antibiotics, no pain medicines and it hurts.

Comment from: zuzu, 25-34 Female (Patient) Published: August 18

I was in pain on my side. After a few days, the pain was too much. I went to a doctor who put me on antibiotics.
