If I'm dining away from home, I take a couple of Imodium before eating, and an IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) attack is usually prevented. This has made a big difference in my life!

My doctor suggested one half of Imodium pill daily to avoid getting IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). It works, such an easy remedy! Wish I had tried this many years ago. I can actually eat a meal and not have to immediately go to the restroom. Please try it!

The only preventative measure for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) I take is to eat limited amounts of raw vegetables and fruits. For example, if I have been having flare ups I will try to eat cooked vegetables and limit fruit consumption. I also always carry Imodium and my Bentyl in my purse for emergencies. While I am in the middle of a flare up I eat bananas and oatmeal or cereal until my gut calms down.

I have heard of peppermint oil to reduce symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome.
