Question:
Did you experience complications from your hysterectomy? Please describe. Submit Your Comment
Yes, I had an abdominal rupture after my hysterectomy. I was throwing up stomach bile, had no appetite, was in hospital for ten days, got a fever and was admitted to CCU. I also had to get a nose drainage so my stomach could pump out all that bile.
I would say yes, I am currently experiencing complications. I had my hysterectomy in June 2018 recently and about two weeks later I started having drainage from the incision of my abdomen from partial hysterectomy. It has been hard because I didn't really expect to have any kind of issues really. I'm 45 but just with any other surgery in your life there's always a chance of something. My doctor says it might take another week or two or even up to a month before it stops so now it's just waiting it out.
After TAH-BSO (total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy), I ended up with sepsis, thankfully diagnosed quickly with an Accident and Emergency admission, and then 7 days of IV antibiotics. It has taken me a very long time to recover (2 years), I have gained 20 percent in weight (10 stone - 12 stone), and can now do most of the things I did before.
After TAH-BSO (total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy), some watery discharge is frequently released from the vagina. No pain and wounds are healthy. I am worried as to what the reason is for the clear discharge.
I had my hysterectomy in 2016. My worry is, it is getting to 2 years now to feeling okay, and I am adding weight. I was operated upon when I was 47 years.
