Frequent high blood sugar caused by diabetes is the cause of my bleeding in the eye (hyphema).

On February 4th, 2018 my nephew was hit in the eye with a foam dart about 6 inches from his face. He spent a week in the hospital where all they did was keep an eye on it and change out medications to get the internal bleeding to stop. Not wanting to do surgery because it would ‘be a mess'. The medicine worked some, however he went back to the hospital on March 20th and it is still bleeding and his brain is shutting down the vision in his eye from lack of use. The retinal specialist say this is a very rare case.

I had a spontaneous hyphema. I had no injury or damage to the eye and it just happened without any reason. The doctors said it is rare and want to check my previous lab tests. I may start taking vitamin K because it takes me a long time to stop bleeding when I cut myself. They prescribed prednisone eye drops and my eye is much better today; less pain and vision is much clearer. Plus I can no longer see the blood clot in it and it's been less than 48 hours.

My right eye has been bleeding several times (4). Two ophthalmologists checked me and didn’t see anything wrong. Blood pressure is ok. Tomorrow I will have blood test.

There was no real cause at all. I felt a slight itch at the side of my eye. I scratched it a little. When I next saw my eye, the white part was bloody and has lasted for three days.

Several years ago I was given an endoscope test. They gave me a little bit of Valium but nothing else. Forcing the tube down, I gagged terribly. It was forced. It was awful. This clinic did other things that were not done correctly. Anyway, afterward, nearly 1/3 of my eyes -- from the bottom up -- filled up with blood. It wasn't pale pink, it wasn't bloody veins...it was solidly filled blood and it took 6 full weeks before it cleared up. Later on, I was told by other professionals at another place that they believed that the 'forced' procedure had caused an instant blood pressure spike that caused my eyes to have a serious 'bleed out'.

I fell a week ago and hit the right side of my face very hard. My face is bruised and I have a black and red eye. This morning I noticed a bit of red inside my right eye just on the white under my pupils. I already saw my Dr. and had a CT scan of my face.

Hit in the eye by end of a flying, snapping bungee cord. Very severe hit directly to the right eye. No vision, an eight ball eye. Big black ball of blood right on top of where the pupil would be. Now 4 days later I am starting to be able to see through it just a little, just fuzzy light and mostly shadows. Really awful.

I was in an automobile accident. The airbag crushed my glasses into my face leaving scratches the shape of my frames and a hyphema in my left eye.

We do not know the cause of my mother's hyphema but it suspiciously occurred the day after laser surgery to "zap" bubbles that had formed around the upper edge of her eye. Her doctor claims it is unrelated but she immediately had pain and blurred vision following the surgery. 7 days later and nothing has improved. She's taking steroid eye drops 4 times a day but so far no change.

My hyphema was caused by when I bumped my head to two days ago.

My 14 year old son was hit in the right eye with a soccer ball in gym at school. At first he had no vision in the eye. Later that evening he could see shadows and light. The next day he saw colors and on the third day his vision was pretty much restored. Today is day 4 and he says it’s like looking through dirty glasses.

My son was injured with an air soft pellet gun that hit him right underneath the colored part of the eyeball resulting in a hyphema.
