Twenty four hours after a meniscus tear to my knee simply walking in the house, the excruciating pain in lower leg was a ruptured Baker's cyst from the meniscus tear that formed a large hematoma in the calf. Six weeks later and after a MRI of knee and calf, a second ultrasound shows no change at all, hematoma is the same size. I have constant pain and recurring swelling. I had been continuing to go out and walk for 2 or 3 hours, and had started physical therapy. Because of recurring swelling I was told only to rest, keep leg elevated and ice as necessary.

I was in a car wreck in 2004. My seatbelt was secured, and as a result of the tightness of the seatbelt after the wreck a hematoma formed on my left leg. It is an ugly bulge that is still there. Doctors seem to think it is not necessary to do anything. They suggested it would be worse to mess with it. It is painful at times.

I have a hematoma on my left hip and fluid has collected on my back. This is very painful. I had an operation to get the fluid out, but not the hematoma. I was involved in an motor car accident 10 years ago. Since then the pain has gotten worse.
