I have had foot pain for ten years. I suffered foot drop after a cortisone injection. It got better, slowly, after spinal fusion. One year ago I finally had a hip replaced. After a couple weeks I started having terrific pain on the back of my heel. Primary care physician recommended Birkenstocks and strain exercises. By last summer I discovered I can’t wear shoes other than sandals or clogs. I can’t have any pressure against the back of my heel and I don’t seem to have good range of motion at the front of my ankle.

The term arthritis refers to stiffness in the joints. See Answer
