Almost 5 weeks ago I impaled the index finger with a blunt force to galvanized wire. X-ray showed no damage to the bone. Tetanus shot and antibiotics were given. I still have stiffness, redness and pain. Chiropractor and other alternative doctors feel it is an injury to the extensor tendon. I have not had any further testing. They all say it takes time to heal. I have been using a splint to immobilize the finger. Some days it is better than other days.

I just caught the tips of 3 fingers in a table saw. I ran them under water and had them home bandaged, in a lot of pain. I don’t want a huge emergency room bill if I can care for fingers myself. I wonder what scan I can do for pain. I am worried if I might have nerve or tendon damage even though it is the top of my 3 fingers.

I sat on a weight bench and it tilted over with 170 pounds on the bar. As I was falling off the base it was tilting towards an Xbox, I tried to save the Xbox with an Odell Beckham Jr catch. Hit by 170 lb. on my pinky, I had instant swelling. I can't move it in any direction. I am about to go to the emergency room.

A car crossed the road 8 to 12 feet in front of me causing me to slam on brakes, and I had an impact injury to the left hand from steering wheel, between thumb and 1st finger. I had immediate swelling of the top of hand seconds after impact. It broke a piece off the thumb base and it seems the swelling won't stop (12 days later) below 1st and 2nd finger, possibly bleeding internally.

I was trimming bushes with an electric trimmer and cut the top of my middle finger with the blade.

I cut my middle finger on my left hand just below the fingernail. I stopped the bleeding, but the cut was deep. The cut has healed, but the end of my finger can only be straightened manually using my right hand to do so. Ligament damage perhaps.

A big wave came unexpected and knocked the daylight out of me. When I fell my left pointing finger went all the way back and it started to swell right away. I went to the doctor. X-rays show I have damaged ligaments.

I was chasing my niece around the couch when I lost my balance and before I hit the floor I tried to catch myself ramming my pinky finger into the couch. It bruised up for a month or two and now the bruising is gone but in the mornings my finger is constricted closed and it is getting harder every day to get it to open.

I was in a fire at 7 months of age and have had a crooked pinky finger all of my life; I am 61. Lately it has been bothering me, painful since I cannot straighten it! I saw a hand specialist who said to leave it alone as it was a tendon issue that would be made worse with surgery, and I will have loss of motion.

About three days ago I sliced my smallest finger on a can. It bled quite a bit. I put a bandage on it for a few days. I have had a lot of pain and now I'm having pain in the ring finger next to it.

While taking my Irish wolfhound puppy (80 pounds) out of my car, I had the leash bunched up in my hand, looped around it. She jumped down and pulled one way and my ring finger went the other. It hurt terribly, but I thought it was fine. The big mistake was not removing my ring. I had to go to the ER at midnight that night because it had swollen so much that my ring was cutting into my finger. They took 45 of the most painful minutes of my life and worked the ring off.

I tripped on a toy and fell, catching my hand and left index finger in a toy airplane. I twisted my left index finger - may have temporarily dislocated it? It hurts most in the joint at the base, between my palm and finger, with noticeable swelling in the space between the first two fingers. Pushing on the finger increases pain, but pulling or bending does not, unless I separate the fingers or twist. I splinted the finger at home, with husband's help (volunteer first responder).

My finger was crushed when a front door slammed on it in a gust of wind. I had deep lacerations of the fingertip and the nail protected it from amputation. After three weeks I am unsure of the prognosis as the healed flap is numb and hard.

I have done damage to my left pinky. It was crushed after an accident with a table at home. I’ve had to have the nail bed removed, and my fingertip was amputated, leaving me with an ugly stump.

My dog bit me a couple of weeks ago. He punctured the skin at the base of my middle finger both on the index finger side and on the ring finger side. I'm experience intense pain along the index finger side of my middle finger whenever I reach for anything leaving my left arm pretty much useless if I need to grab or reach for something. The pain originates right at the base of the middle finger along the index finger side which is right where the dog bite is. I'm worried that I may have damaged a nerve and I don't really know what to do about it? It doesn't hurt to lift things with my left hand. It only hurts if I try to reach for things.

A friend bent my son's pinky finger and it popped. It swelled and is very painful. It happened in the middle of the day at school. No ice has been applied. He said the swelling has gone down significantly; it looks like a pyramid from the bottom to the tip.
