My son was assaulted a year ago which caused his eye to rupture. Lens was dislodged. Surgery occurred 5 hours after with sutures placed 9 to 3 o'clock. The eye has healed well. Pressures are great. He can see bright light, his peripheral vision works and he can see the largest letter in the office. He was also given contacts for that eye which directed the light properly in that eye and it was amazing. His eye stopped kicking out, he could see enough to drive with that one eye only and he was ecstatic. The problem is that after wearing the contact lens one day, he felt discomfort and extreme redness in his eye. He would not use the contact lens again. I wonder if he can have any kind of surgery to stop the horizontal double vision. And, because his eye ball is a different shape after the surgery, perhaps lenses can be placed in to help him with his vision as well since we know he can have those things with a contact lens. I am desperate to find a great ophthalmologist anywhere in the US that would examine him and give us any hope.

I went to look out the window and caught a nail that had been put in the window frame to hold the curtain back. It was right at eye level. I had lots of pain and pulled back off the nail, took a shower and applied ice. I think it entered or poked me around the tear duct and eyeball. I can see but my vision is blurry as if looking through a bubble. My eye is itching, and when I cover the uninjured eye the hurt seems to be ok. I have no insurance so I don't know what to do next.

I was hit by a bus door on the side of my eye. I heard a twang and I instantly lost 75 percent of my vision. Doctors are calling it a stroke. I think the hit caused the stroke.

I had a piece of steel get past my safety glasses while grinding. This caused a corneal abrasion and resultant rust ring in my right eye. After several treatments to remove all of the rust ring, I am hoping the scarring will be minor as the injury was just to the right of center of the pupil.

My 10 year old son was pillow fighting w/ my 2 year old son, who was injured in his left eye. He went to the ER, and they gave him medicine for an infection, and said "the cornea wasn't scratched."

My wife could not remember if she had removed her contact lenses the previous night and when she tried to remove the perceived lens, she instead tore off a piece of her eye covering causing pain, redness, and a yellow bubble. Next day the eye is still red with a little less pain.
