I was 49 years in March 2020 when I had a sore throat. I did salt water gargle and Corsodyl. I used Strepsils n Chloraseptic lozenges, and still had pain, fever, couldn't swallow, was constantly drooling, and spitting continuously. Two days later I visited the primary care physician who said strep throat and prescribed azithromycin. I went home and attempted to take it but couldn't swallow. Several hours later I went to the emergency room who contacted an ENT; I had epiglottitis. Hours later I couldn't breathe and was given steroids, then IV antibiotics, and was able to swallow afterwards.
