My son received plasma exchange for his encephalopathy and it worked well. But that was 16 months ago and he is still left with some brain damage.

I was given Lexapro due to the fact that I also had depression besides encephalopathy, and I was also put on a form of blood thinner because I had a blood clot. I no longer take the blood thinner but I'm still on the Lexapro. I'm assuming that I'll be taking that forever because it regulates my mood.

After a TIPS (transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt) operation my daughter suffers from encephalopathy. She is receiving medication but the sickness reoccurs constantly. I am worried if this is damaging her brain further.
