I had a D and C done 6 weeks ago and I am still spotting and have small brown pieces coming out. Not sure if this is normal. And it smells too. I don’t think it's an infection as it's not green or mucus-y and I have no fever.
I was diagnosed with anemia due to heavy monthly cycles and 2 fibroids. So I had a D and C and hysteroscopy done 8/2021, age 49. I had a regular period that same month, days after. Then September came around and I had regular heavy periods, minus the clots. October here and my periods are like before, like I never had removal of fibroids or D and C, heavy and clotting. I am feeling weak, scared I might need iron infusion soon because my periods did not subside after the procedure as promised. Don’t do the procedure, doesn’t work.
My symptoms prior to my D and C were nonstop migraine like headaches, dizziness, lightheadedness, pressure on my eyes, and difficulty focusing on reading or typing; words get blurry and jumbled.
I had a hysteroscopy, a D and C and an intrauterine device placed inside me on 4th December 2019, because of heavy bleeding. My bleeding became lighter and lasted until the 8th. I thought my periods came back but it's now the 16th and I'm still bleeding. I don't know what's wrong, and worried.
I’m 55 years old and had started having abnormal bleeding after 2 or 3 years of no more periods. The first time it happened was 3 months ago and was like a regular period but lasted 9 days. I’ve continued having bleeding episodes almost daily so I had a Pap test, endometrial biopsy (they didn’t obtain enough for proper assessment), and transvaginal ultrasound that revealed polyps and probably the cause of my bleeding, after which I had D and C.
I had D and C. After the D and C, I took a test after 3 weeks and I tested negative, but I’m still having stomach pains and it is making me worry.
I had a D and C a month and experienced no bleeding after the procedure. A week later, I experienced severe cramps and heavy bleeding. The cramps are no more there, but I've being spotting since then. I'm worried.
I had a D and C 4 days ago and my bleeding stopped yesterday. Then I woke up this morning and had abdominal pains like a period. Then I started bleeding dark red and heavy with blue clots. Wondering if I should go back to the emergency room.
I had no symptoms. I am 68 years old, went for an MRI underneath my breast, and came to find out I had thickening of the walls, abnormally thick. I was told to have a D and C on Thursday. I had pain and bleeding next day, a little menstrual cramps, but no bleeding. But 2 1/2 days later I have menstrual cramps and I'm bleeding again.
I had been having severe pains for some days now and bleeding too prior to my D and C.
I had a regular cycle all my life and then literally from September to November of 2018 my cycle wouldn’t stop! It wasn’t heavy, just a normal flow, but I had really big blood clots. I went to the doctor, he did an ultrasound and said my lining was too thick and something was in there. He recommended a D and C to see what was going on and he found that I had polyps, I had 6 of them. He made sure they weren’t cancerous. And now my cycle is back to normal!

QUESTION
Negative emotions are more powerful than positive emotions. See AnswerI had severe pain and heavy bleeding. No problem after D and C.
I had heavy periods for many years, serious cramping, and eventually nonstop bleeding with large clots. I was sent away twice from doctor’s office as nurse practitioner told me, ‘you’re just getting older,’ before finally getting a D and C.
I am 70 plus, I had D and C, and have started to bleed a bit one week after procedure. I am not sure if this is normal. I was not bleeding before.
It is almost 2 weeks since I had my D and C and am off and on bleeding.
My vagina hasn't returned to its normal size for almost 5 weeks since my D and C. It seems I have a tear from the outside, I have this odor, and discharge too, and still did not bleed, not even once.
I still have heavy cycles. I have numbness. I have tenderness in my abdomen. I have trouble swallowing at times.
I had a D and C and hysteroscopy due to a polyp, no cancer. I had normal bleeding, then stopped for 2 plus weeks. Then I had it light. Now about 55 days later I have had a bit heavier show on the toilet paper when I urinated twice and once light in the last nine days. I wonder if that could be because of something that happened during the D and C and hysteroscopy, as I had no bleeding before it was done. I am 69 soon to be 70. They did find another polyp but not cancerous.
I'm having a D and C. Up to the 8th week, my pregnancy was healthy, but on the 9th week mark (yesterday) they couldn't find a heartbeat. I'm hoping it's just a mistake and the heart will start beating again. My obstetrician says the procedure will fully put me under and I'll experience some cramps. I just couldn't bear to do it alone at home.
I had light cramping for 4-5 days and spotting still. I am on day 6, still experiencing small amounts of brown spotting but this is expected for 2 weeks from what my specialist told me.
After D and C I had bleeding in 1 week and it stopped, but after one week again bleeding has appeared. I don't know what is happening.
After my D and C last December 7th, 2019, up to now my bleeding won’t stop. I don’t know the cause.
I had a D and C done 1/27/20 and I am still bleeding.
I had my D and C done after 5 weeks (miscarriage). It’s been 10 days, I am still having slight bleeding and lower left side low intensity pain. I am not feeling sick or weak.

I picked doctor with major hospital. I had a D&C in hospital for a baby of seven weeks no heartbeat. I would pick this again. They put me under and gave pain meds in an IV.
I had a D&C to remove molar pregnancy/miscarriage. The placenta was overgrown and no fetus at 8 wk. I didn't know I was pregnant. I had spotting for a full month, severe migraines and cramps. The first D&C didn't get all the cells and they started regrowing.
I don't know about D&C, until I experienced mild bleeding that started after the fourth week of my pregnancy. I was confident that maybe it was part of being pregnant but on the 8th week , I had this pain on my abdomen. I immediately went to my Ob/Gyn and I was advised to have an ultrasound and to find out that the baby has no heartbeat and it has wrapped around its placenta. My doctor immediately scheduled me for admission and a D&C. I didn’t feel any pain.
I had excessive bleeding and severe pain in the abdomen.
I had a D & C with hysteroscopy done last week due to abnormal bleeding. I am on Tamoxifen for breast cancer so they had to rule out uterine cancer which can be a side effect.
I have had irregular bleeding for months. Some months are worse than others. I have been told I have three fibroids in my uterus. Two have been there awhile and the third is new. I also have thickening on my walls. I’ve been told I need a D&C. I am currently undergoing treatment for a recurrence of cancer.
I am going in for a D&C in two days due to a blighted ovum that my body is not expelling.
I had light spotting at 5 1/2 weeks then had and an ultrasound at 6 weeks showed a slow heartbeat in my baby. I then went back for a follow up ultrasound at 7.5 weeks and there was no heartbeat. I am having a d/c in 2 days.
I have been experiencing irregular and heavy bleeding. I will bleed for three out of four weeks in a month. We tried birth control pills to see if that would help regulate me, but it didn't work. So we will try a D&C next. If this procedure doesn't work, we will try using an IUD. Lastly, if all else fails, I will have an ablation. My nonstop bleeding as led to low iron stores and my being very tired and irritable and dealing with severe headaches on a weekly basis. So it's not just the bleeding that is difficult to deal with.
I had a D&C due to placenta left after my C-section four weeks prior. My baby is healthy but my uterus wasn't going back like it was supposed to. Then I started gushing blood with intervals of little bleeding. The next day after the D&C I still had a gush and was put on medication to make my uterus contract. I'm still bleeding a little and have small clots. It's been four days and my stomach is very sore and have been directed by my doctor to take it very easy.
After the D and C, I did not bleed. I experience pains in my lower abdomen but not often, fever, and vomiting. My pregnancy test result is positive.
I am 70 years old with a 30 history of uterine fibroids, am postmenopausal for 11 years, and had a hysteroscopy/polypectomy 10 years ago. Five weeks ago I began mild vaginal bleeding that lasted four weeks. I had an ultrasound, and am now scheduled for a hysteroscopy and endometrial. The fibroids are so dense that any office procedure seems to be too risky.
I've had a little bleeding after menopause and after a transvaginal scan it seems I have some cysts and thickening inside which having this procedure is going to help. My appointment is imminent and I was just looking as I am worried about it.
I will have a D&C next month, because my IUD strings went up inside my cervix and my OB/GYN tried to remove it, by locally numbing my cervix, dilating and using a hook and even forceps. But no matter what she tried she couldn't get the hold of it. It was an excruciating pain since only the cervix was numbed. It took her 20 minutes to finally give up. And said she was sorry and that she tried her best. She couldn't find the IUD.
I'm 53 and approaching menopause. My once very regular periods became more irregular and very heavy. After the last one I bled lightly every day for over three months. The doctor did a hysteroscopy and saw polyps in my uterus. A D&C has been recommended.
I was bleeding everyday for over 2 months (8 weeks), after I gave birth to my 1st daughter, who came 5 weeks early! Some days there was very little clotting, but on other days there was lots of clotting. I went on 2 different courses of oral antibiotics. After completing both of them, I still wasn't feeling 100%, had no energy at all. All I wanted to do was to sleep, wasn't hungry. After the antibiotics I was sent for an ultrasound which wasn't able to see much as the lining was too thick still. So they had to go in for the D & C. Now to finally I’m finally able to enjoy my beautiful daughter.
I had minimal post menopausal spotting for three days. I have a zero tolerance for this at age 60. My biopsy came back fine but my ob/gyn wanted a D&C after ultrasound which appeared to show a polyp.
I have been bleeding for three weeks now, with severe cramps, and back pain, and also severe clotting... I am miserable and my doctor wants me to take the birth control pill. I have already had two children and had a tubal done. I am not one to take a pill every day. I don’t want to second guess my doctor but something needs to be done. I already have pre-cervical cancer cells. I get a biopsy once a year to check that, and was already told my uterus was too thick. I am tired of being in pain, and considering asking about this D & C maybe it will work. I have asked the doctor about a hysterectomy but he refused due to me only being 26. I am running out of patience here...and need something done.
I had irregular bleeding. I bled for almost a month nonstop. I had a vaginal ultra sound but the lining was still too thick so that’s why I have to have a D and C done.
