My Dad has just past away from ASL (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). He was sick for 4 years and was told he had a stroke then. In June 2017 we were finally told the truth that it was ALS. I knew it wasn't a stroke, they weren't the right signs. He passed away with little support. He was at home and my wonderful mother did take care of him. I live a 1000 miles away, therefore she was alone. They did end up with some support at the end, very little. But it was better than none. I just found out today one of my friends’ father has ALS with dementia! I wish I knew what we can do to help with this disease.
