Shortness of breath even without exerting myself was my symptom of congestive heart failure. Waking up at night feeling like I can’t catch my breath, edema in ankles and feet, and weight gain of several pounds per week were other symptoms I had.
I have extreme shortness of breath with very light activity. I must rest going upstairs. I am still short of breath at rest. I must sleep in a Lazy Boy chair. I am out of breath when bending over to tie shoes, cut nails or pick things off the floor. I was diagnosed with coronary artery disease at age 46. I have 15 coronary artery stents and congestive heart failure. I am now 65. My heart failure symptoms appear to have worsened greatly over the past 7 months. I can only work half days, often from home. I am far less productive.
I have massive edema in my upper legs. Also a swollen stomach but not any other symptoms of congestive heart failure.
