I get bronchitis usually every winter. I take ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and over the counter Ephedra Walgreen brand little yellow pills. Albuterol really helps in the nebulizer with a little drop of myrtle essential oil. At night if the cough is persistent I take a NyQuil but I still get woken up about 2 times to hack and cough it all up. It always takes about 4 to 6 weeks to clear up. Doctor always prescribes an antibiotic but no matter what, you have at least 4 weeks of bronchitis to live with. So hang in there and take steamy showers and breathe steam for relief.
Rest and plenty of water have helped with my chronic bronchitis.
