Thrombophob cream for bruises, and ice were effective for my black eye.

First I put vitamin E oil over the injured area of the black eye. Second I took 600 mg Advil and 200 mg Aleve for inflammation. Third, using an ice pack wrapped in clear plastic wrap for insulation, apply the cold pack for 20 minutes and remove for 10 minutes three times (1.5 hours total.) Twelve hours later I performed a cold compress with sodium bicarbonate to help control swelling and soothe the area. After the cold compress, apply vitamin E oil to help protect the injured skin. Repeat for three days.

I was hit by a blunt object on my eye and it was swollen. Now the swelling has subsided, but I still have a black eye and I don't know how to treat it.

I had 8 bottom teeth surgery with sedation. That same day I slipped and fell down and banged my head on a brass handle. I woke up the next day and my left eye was turning black and purple. TODAY IT is swollen, dark purple and black. I am worried about blood clots.

After having a lengthy and difficult cornea transplant surgery, my eye was BLACK down into my cheek. I used arnica creme on the areas NOT up close to the eye and found each day a dramatic difference. I have always used it on any bruising with equal success. Added note my doctor was amazing and I am now seeing 20/40 with a soft lens after two months. Next transplant scheduled for July!

Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy performed by a massage therapist or physical therapist with special training can really help get rid of the swelling and discoloration. Expensive for daily treatments, but well worth it if you are an actor, public figure, or just don't want to go around with a bad shiner.

I broke my nose. I have gel eye patch that fits over both eyes without pressure that my husband bought for me. Both my eyes are very black and very swollen. I have a lot of swelling so anything with weight just does not work. The first day using and I have notice a little change after 2 twenty minutes on eyes. It won't be fast but I should not be in pain when using the ice pack and I was.

Ice packs on the eyes are suggested by my plastic surgeon for treatment of my black eye.
